Same as every year (if we don’t count those 2 years of lockdown) our CREW supported the realization of SMS FESTIVAL in Saalburg, Germany. STAGEHANDS, SITE CREW, SHOWCREW, FORKLIFT DRIVERS, SCAFFS, STEELS and many more – a huge amount of our CREW members has worked in the heat to make this happen. This is SMS FESTIVAL – one of the biggest electronic music festivals in Europe and we are proud to be part of it for so many years. And this year was special. It was the first year after the 3 years of corona pandemic and it feels good to be back. Back on the road, back on the concerts, festival and back in the business…

 

SonneMondSterne is a massive German EDM festival with over 40,000 dancing festies. Known for its legendary campsite parties, SMS has been putting on this show for over two decades. SonneMondSterne, also referred to as SMS, is an annual electronic music festival that takes place in Saalburg, Germany each August. More than 40,000 visitors are welcomed to the three-day event, which features the biggest and best electronic music acts in the world.

The nearest major airport is Leipzig/Halle Airport, located just over an hour north of Saalburg-Ebersdorf. Upon arrival, the easiest way to get around is by car or train. Car rental options are available throughout the airport and offer easy and flexible transport options to and from the festival.

You can also take the train to Bad Lobenstein and Neustadt, where free shuttles will transport visitors to and from the festival grounds. Where to stay for SonneMondSterne

SonneMondSterne offers a large campground located next to the festival grounds. Access to the campgrounds is included in the ticket price and the campground is fully equipped with sanitary facilities, lockers, mobile charging stations and more. Car and RV camping is also available, however, there are no power and water connections available for RVs. 

There are also a number of accommodation options available in Saalburg-Ebersdorf. The nearest hotel is Hotel Seeblick Saalburg, located just a short drive from the venue. Things to do in Saalburg-Ebersdorf

Located in the state of Thuringia, you can find a range of things to see and do near the festival. One of the most popular attractions is Wartburg Castle, a medieval stone castle located on a high rock in parkland; featuring a museum showcasing art from the middle ages.

Nearby, you can also find Hainich National Park, a UNESCO-listed world heritage site with forest boardwalks, walking trails, wildlife and more. You can also find Rennsteig, a popular hiking and winter sports venue featuring long distance running trails, historical paths, forestland and more.
